For some reason people seem to think fashion means you have to be wearing a Mark Jacob's dress, a Chanel sweater, a pair Jimmie Choo heels, and accessories by Kate Spade. ...What? Okay, don't get me wrong, I think I'm in love with all these things but together? Heck no. Why do people think to be fashionable you have to have designers throw up on you? It just makes no sense. Sure these are all apart of popular fashion, which, I too, do appreciate, but let's be honest, how many of us can actually pull this off (in more ways then one). So I put this outfit together to kind of prove that the economy or the boundaries of society (yeah, I went there) don't hold back our fashion. Quite frankly it's all about style (I'll talk bout that another time)
Sorry most of the time I either know the store I got it at or the brand
So here I'm wearing:
A almost cerise, purple scarf (JcPenney's)
Black V neck Tee (Faded Glory)
Black coat ( Divided by H&M)
Dark blue faded jeans (Mudd)
High Tops (Rue 21 etc!) courtesy of Foxy in College my partner in crime
Steel Ring (sorry, one of kind. got it from someone who makes rings at a festival)
Heart Key bracelet (Sorry, got it at the Del Mar fair)
These were all things that I thought would probably be in just about any girl's (...or guy's) closet
I wasn't trying to be artistic with the b&w. the colors were just awful in the photo.
I promise I'll find a better picture spot
Like I said, I was aiming for simplicity. I had a shirt that would have gone with the scarf color wise but with the plain black tee I eliminated stuffy-ness. Also most of my clothes are dark colors but notice how I don't become a dark blob of doom. I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit simple while my scarf added color, depth and texture. And because my colors are either black or a dark blue nothing clashes. (although may I note, sometimes clashing is AWESOME... but not right now)
Yeah yeah I know... Waterfall scarf is so not from 2012 (2011/2010 maybe?). But seriously, who cares. What looked extremely good in the past either sticks around or comes back.
It's get cold in my classrooms sometime and is always freezing in my house so I wanted something I could pair with a light jacket. The Jacket also add some neutral texture.
I put this in here for a few reasons, one, my green eyeliner. I chose green because although it's hard to tell in these pictures the scarf has a lot of red in it. To accent that I used green eyeliner. Basic color wheel concept, learn it. The scarf because you can see the red in the high lights. Lastly my hair. I usually have my hair down but with the scarf it just would have gotten too busy. So I did a simple Gibson tuck. I've always been partial to messy hair... so it's messy. But note Its harder to keep in when it's messy. I'll say it once I'll say it again. Texture.
Short hair = lots of bobby pins
... I talk too much
